چکیده

OLSR is a recent routing protocol for multi-hop wireless ad-hoc networks standardized by the IETF. It uses the concept of Multi-Point Relays (MPR) to minimize the overhead of routing messages and limit the harmful effects of broadcast in such networks. In this report, we are interested in the performance evaluation of Multi-Point Relays selection. We analyze the mean number of selected MPR in the network and their spatial distribution. Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...

Analysis of the Multi-Point Relay Selection in Olsr and Implications

Optimized Link State Routing protocol (OLSR) is a promising routing protocol for multi-hop wireless ad-hoc networks, recently standardized by the IETF as a RFC. OLSR uses intensively the concept of Multi-Point Relays (MPR) to minimize the overhead of routing messages and limit the harmful effects of broadcasting in such networks. In this article, we are interested in the performance evaluations...

An Experimental Study on Optimized Link State Routing Protocol for Underground Mines

In this paper, we investigate the benefits of Optimized Link State Routing Protocol used for communication in underground mines. Due to network failures, node and link failures in the past few years an explosive growth in the use of wireless routing protocols for communication needs in the underground environment. Most studies indicate that it is impossible for reliable routing under ground lev...

The New Multipoint Relays Selection in OLSR using Particle Swarm Optimization

The standard optimized link state routing (OLSR) introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint relays (MPRs), to mitigate message overhead during the flooding process. This paper propose a new algorithm for MPRs selection to enhance the performance of OLSR using particle swarm optimization sigmoid increasing inertia weight (PSOSIIW). The sigmoid increasing inertia weight has significance im...

Enhancing Delay in MANET Using OLSR Protocol

The performance of a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is closely related to the capability of the implemented routing protocol to adapt itself to unpredictable changes of topology network and link status. The Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is a one key of the proactive routing protocols for MANETs. It is based on the multi-point relays (MPRs) technique to reach all nodes in the netwo...
